How To Fix System Error 5 On Windows

System Error 5, also known as the "Access Is Denied" error - is a big problem for many Windows computers, as it's continually preventing you from being able to connect to the Internet & perform a range of other important features. This error is continually being shown on all versions of Windows and needs to be fixed in order to ensure your system is running as smoothly and reliably as possible again.

System error 5 shows up like this normally:

  • "System Error 5 has occurred"

    "Access is denied"

There are various causes of this error, which every Windows computer can become susceptible to. However, the main cause of the problem is down to the "Windows Vista User Account Control (UAC)" feature of your system. This feature is what Windows uses to control who has access to your files & settings, and it's often the case that if its not set up correctly, a PC will just block access to it. There are also other causes of problems, such as having registry errors and virus infections.

The first step to fixing this error is to change the "LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy" registry key. This registry setting is responsible for accepting / denying access to your computer when network PCs try and connect to it. To change this setting, you can either manually use the RegEdit.exe program, or a registry cleaner tool. If you're not sure what the "registry" is, then it's recommended that you use a registry cleaner to fix this error.

The way to also resolve system error 5 is to then use a 'registry cleaner' program on your PC. This is a type of software which will scan through Windows and fix a variety of errors that are inside the system. More specifically, these tools will scan through the "registry database" of your computer and fix any problems that are inside there. The registry database of your system is where Windows keeps everything from your desktop wallpaper to your latest emails, and is basically a central hub for all the settings & options that your computer requires to run. Even though the registry is a very important part of your computer, it's continually causing a large number of errors on your PC through it being saved incorrectly. To fix this issue, you should use a registry cleaner program to ensure that there are no registry errors causing issues for your computer.
