Slow computer performance is the bane of all computer operators today. On the first day we start operating our brand new computers they seem to start losing their performance edge. At least, this is how it seems. When a PC's performance becomes so slow we seem to always be waiting for something new to be popping up on its screen, it is very frustrating for us. So what can we do about this slow computer problem? In this article, you can see some tips that you should really check into as your computer starts to lose its speed.
Reason for Slow Computer
95% of the time the reason for a slow computer is because of the windows registry. The registry is like the heart of your computer. Every time your computer starts, shuts down or loads programs it has to reference the registry. A corrupt or bloated registry can really slow a computer down.
Slow Computer Solution
Tip One. Fix Slow Computer By Eliminating Viruses Or Spy-ware
1. Run your anti-virus program. There may be something slowing your computer that you can remove. It is a good idea to run your anti-virus program every week.
2. Remove spyware! Use and run a good spy-ware tool on your PC at least twice a month.
3.Use a pop-up blocker, if you have one. A pop-up blocker may be located on your antivirus program.
Tip Two. Fix Slow Computer By Reformatting Your Computer
One way to effectively restore your CPU back to its original state is to reformat your entire PC. This method will erase all the faulty programs and viruses from your CPU's hard drive and give you a brand new start.
However, this technique is rather long and tedious. Also if you do not know how to reformat your system yourself, you may need to pay a computer technician to do it for you. It is recommended that before you reformat your CPU that you back up all your files so that you do not lose anything important.
Tip Three. Fix Slow Computer By Cleaning Your Desktop
If your desktop is cluttered with files, this could be a reason why your CPU is running slow. Every time you start up windows, operating memory is used for all your files on your desktop. If those files are shortcuts, the total amount of memory used will be small, however if there are dozens of files on your desktop, it will use up large amounts of memory for no purpose or gain.
To clean your desktop to speed up slow computer, put all of your files in the "My Documents" folder. If you have lots of files, you can put them in separate folders. For the more frequently used files, create shortcuts on your desktop for easy access. By doing so, you will free up operating memory which can improve the speed of your CPU.
