How To Fix D3DRM.dll Errors
1) Re-Install The Game / Software.
The first thing to do is to re-install the game or software that's causing an error. This is best done by clicking onto the "Control Panel" of Windows, and then accessing the "Add / Remove Programs" applet (now called "Uninstall A Program" in Windows 7), and removing the software from that list. This will then allow you to clean out any of the potential problems that you could have inside your system with the file, ensuring it's able to work properly again.
2) Run a Virus / Malware Scan of Your System.
If you have a virus and malware software installed on your computer, you should run a virus scan to ensure that a virus has not infected your D3DRM.DLL file. A good virus scan program should detect this.
Fortunately, Microsoft keeps its files updated and consistently puts out new releases and patches. Accordingly, you should download the latest version of DirectX depending on your operating system (Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7). It should be alright if you are running two versions of DirectX such as DirectX9 and DirectX10 as these programs generally work well together. Performing a DirectX update coupled with a registry scan will almost certainly correct your issue.
3) Download the Missing D3DRM.DLL File.
If you continue to be missing the D3DRM.DLL file, you could download the file from the internet and place it into the proper Windows directory file. You should use extreme caution if using this method as you may not know if the file can be trusted. In addition, you need to have some technical skill and knowledge in order to know where to place the D3DRM.DLL file. Doing this incorrectly could result in additional computer issues.
